"I COACH MY CLIENTS TO HELP THEM UNDERSTAND THEIR DOGS AND IMPROVE THEIR LIVES"
Support can range from puppy training and advice, problems such as pulling on the lead or not coming back when called, to helping with a behavioural issue which is causing a problem between you and your dog. I also support families who have a child who is fearful of dogs.
My goal is to support you and your dog through positive, ethical, fear free and rewarding techniques.
I use only scientific, positive based techniques and would never condone a harsh, aversive or forceful approach

ABOUT ME
Matt Hymus
Canine Behaviourist & Trainer
I am a Vet recommended, canine behaviourist and dog trainer. I passed my advanced Canine Behaviour and Training (Level 6 - Degree level) in November 2025 after 2 years of study and have over 5 years professional experience working with dogs, along with a lifetime of living with dogs.
I am also an approved IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) Trainer and KAD (Kids around Dogs) approved pro. (KAD is a Supporting Member organisation of ABTC (https://abtc.org.uk/advisory-and-supporting-members/) helping children overcome their fears and teaching them how to interact with dogs.
I also volunteer at Danaher Animal Home when I can, having started there as a dog walker in 2019, helping numerous and various dogs. I continue to help clients who re-home dogs from Danaher.
Having grown up in a family who always had dogs, from a German Shepherd to a Greyhound and Labrador, I know how important and rewarding a positive relationship between dog and owner can be. I now care for my own big and fluffy Labradoodle.
I will always continue my personal development to ensure I can provide you with the most appropriate, force free solutions.
Consultations are available UK wide and I look forward to working with you and your canine friend, either in person or via Zoom.
As an Assessed and Qualified Member of The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (www.imdt.uk.com) I am also proud to display the UK Dog Behaviour & Training Charter symbol

“Positive methods aren't about over-indulgence or ignoring negative behaviours. They involve rewarding the behaviour you want the dog to repeat and preventing the behaviours occuring that you don't want your dog to keep rehearsing”
