FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHEN AND WHERE ARE 1-2-1 SESSIONS AVAILABLE?

1-2-1 sessions are available UK wide Monday-Saturday

For an urgent session, please contact call

WHAT TRAINING METHODS DO YOU USE?

I only provide ethical and fear free training advice. I would never use or condone the use of prong collars, shock collars, slip leads or other similar "training" aids.

WHERE AND WHEN ARE CLASSES HELD?

  • Prested Hall, Feering (outside)  -  Weekends

  • Blue Bear Rehabilitation, Copford (inside , 1st floor) - Weekdays

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO CLASS?

  • Plenty of mixed tiny, high value treats (pea size)

  • High value natural dog treats or tiny bits of chicken, cheese, ham, or sausage tend to work well in the high distraction environment. This will be your main training reward to start with in class. Bringing a mixture of treats works well

  • A treat pouch

  • A standard lead (approx 1.5m), flat collar and harness(preferable)

  • Water for your dog

  • Suitable clothing for all weathers (for you and your dog)

DO YOU CANCEL CLASSES IF IT RAINS?

Not as a rule, as long as it is safe to train I will train all weathers. I will only cancel if deemed to be unsafe for owners and dogs to train.
Dog's still need exercise, even if it rains! However if I do need to cancel I just take our training online instead or postpone the class as appropriate

CAN I ATTEND CLASS IF MY BITCH IS IN SEASON?

Seasons can sometimes be difficult to predict, and I ask owners not to bring bitches in season to classes. Your place is booked regardless so I would encourage owners to attend without their dog so you know what to train at home.

WHAT TRAINING METHODS DO YOU USE?

I only use modern, science based force and fear free, reward based training using positive reinforcement. We do not condone or permit harsh handling, slip leads, or punishment.
